Reverend Patrice Turner at 39 has had a very diverse life. Having been raised in Islam, she has always had a prayerful Christian influence through her maternal grandparents. It was partly this influence that brought her to Christ over eleven years ago. She accepted the Lord Jesus as her Savior and joined the Vernon Park Church of God in Chicago under the pastoral leadership of Revs. Claude and Addie Wyatt. Their pastoral leadership was followed by Rev. Jerald January, Sr.
She served Vernon Park Church of God as Associate Minister, Marriage Ministry Leader, Chaplain and Vocalist for the Adult Choir and Praise & Worship Team, Ministry Aide to the Body Life Pastor, Leadership Summit Secretary, Ministers Assembly Secretary, Editor-In-Chief of the quarterly newsletter (The Torch) and Director of Public Relations.
A graduate of The Living Word Christian Center Intercessory Prayer Training Class and Valedictorian of The Leadership Institute, Patrice has used her love of the Word of God to preach and teach the Word of God.
Rev. Turner served as Administrator for January Ministries and implemented The Life Advance Conference 2003. She has written for Urban Ministries, One Voice Magazine, was a featured guest on LZ Productions, CAN-TV talk show and has published the books, Muslim To Minister and Show Yourself Friendly.
Rev. Turner serves on the Executive Board of the Chicagoland Area Ministers Fellowship, serves with the Sickle Cell Disease association of Northwest Indiana-Beatchre Strong Chapter, serves as Promotions and Communications Chairperson for the National Association of the Church of God Come Sow With Us…Come Grow With Us Campaign and teaches at the NACOG In Service Training Institute. In 2007, she hosted the first annual Show Yourself Friendly: A Proverbs 18:24 Retreat celebrating the power and joy of Godly friendships. She is in constant demand as a preacher, teacher and workshop/conference presenter.
An Entrepreneur, Rev. Turner is the sole proprietor of Write The Vision Publishing. Write The Vision Publishing publishes the bi-monthly publication Purposeful Women. Published books from Write The Vision Publishing include If The Dream Is Big Enough, The Facts Don’t Count, Spiritual Inspirations For Every Situation, Kayla’s Song and When Cancer Calls. Write The Vision Publishing also offers desktop publishing and grant-writing services. Write The Vision Publishing hosts an annual Publishing/Writing Conference and holds an annual Writing Competition. Write The Vision Publishing specializes in newsletter production, editing, marketing and public relations.
Rev. Turner is an ordained Minister of the Church of God, Anderson, IN and currently serves the First Church of God, Gary, IN as Associate Minister, Administrator to the Pastor, Media Director, Outreach Minister, Website Designer & Administrator and Public Relations Specialist.
Rev. Turner resides in Dolton, IL with her husband and four children. She maintains her home as her first ministry.
