* Why I wrote The Complicated Life Of The African-American Man(What's on his mind)*
In writing this book, I have endeavored to encapsulate
the honest and sincere thoughts, emotions and motivations
of African-American men.
For the African-American male reader, hopefully this
book will be a valued tool, one which can be used to articulate
some of your concerns and experiences that until
this point have not been adequately expounded upon and
addressed.
To the European-American reader (as well as all other
readers) this book will give you an opportunity to better
understand the African-American male.
Hopefully, an open and honest dialog will occur, one
that is void of the pretenses of “political correctness” and
other “feel good” antidotes that give the impression that
America is a cohesive and healed nation.
In this world of sound bites and easy-to-digest stereotypical
verbiage, we try to equate the sum total of an
individual’s character by the simplest form of addition
and subtraction. Sometimes the complexities of someone
demand an algebraic type of reasoning. For too many
years, the African-American man has been portrayed in
an overly simplified way.
As the African-American man exposes you to
America, as seen through his eyes, heard through his ears
and felt through his experiences, listen and learn.
