NICK CHOO was born in Penang, Malaysia, where he lived for 18 years before moving down south to Selangor. His passions lie mainly in writing, music and cartooning. Major writing influences include Dean Koontz, John Saul and Nicholas Sparks. Musically, Nick enjoys composing, with a focus on Christian music and theatrical songs, while Nick's cartooning influences include the best of old British comics BUSTER, WHIZZER & CHIPS and WHOOPEE. Nick studied in St Xaviers Institution, Penang, before completing his Higher School Certificate at Newington College in Sydney, Australia, in 1998 & 1999. In 2002 he headed off to Perth to finish his Mass Communications-English degrees, and in 2004 he commenced Masters study in both fields.

WRITING: Nick is the author of "Trippers", a horror novel published by Writers Club Press in 2002. He is currently at work on a new horror series for a Malaysian publisher, as well as on his second novel, a work of contemporary fiction tentatively entitled "Bench".
MUSIC: In 2003 he wrote the music for "Richard III", a musicalization of Shakespeare's play which was performed in Murdoch University, Perth, Western Australia.
CARTOONS: Nick's works have been published in Malaysian newspaper 'The Sun' in 2000/2001, including the features "Seko-lah!", "I-Toons" and "Nick-Knacks".
OTHERS: In 2003, Nick contributed to and was featured on Western Australian comedy series "Love on the Box" (see link below), as part of the band providing the music, as well as in a guest-starring role.

Nick has worked in newspaper as, among other things, a sub-editor, features writer, cartoonist, news reporter, and book reviewer. In 2001, he and his friends produced a Christmas album entitled "The Meaning of Christmas", which managed to raise more than M$800 for charity. Nick continues to be involved in the journalistic field while simultaneously working on music and drama.
