I wrote and delivered a lot of sermons and was surprised when I discovered the gift of poetry. In 3 years I have written over 350 poems -- and some of them are even good. The poem which got me started was about my father giving me a desk. It was a very emotional poem and it has the title, "The Old Metal Desk." This book has been published by AuthorHouse and is available at a bookstore near you. I had a book published several years ago -- "Getting Fired Up. Devotions for the Christian Athlete." I have a crazy sense of humor and puns. My writing will combine religious, humor and social commentary. I do not like Christian poems that are just the repeating of sugar-coated sayings. I want to see it go into what it means to follow Jesus to the poor, hungry, outcast, etc.
