Researching 'GRAVES IN THE WILDERNESS' made me realize that we're only here for a short while so may as well leave something behind! And what better than a piece of your mind; your creative being ... a book ... your creation!

Background Information

What motivates me to write? Well it sure ain't fame, fortune or the trappings! I guess I write because I have something to share. If I like it then there's a fair chance that others will get some enjoyment from it as well. That's certainly been the case to date. Perhaps I am unwell, but I even enjoy the research, long hours of writing, re-writing and re-writing again until I have a product that I feel is ready to lay down and let the editors go crazy over. Love historical fiction. There's something about injecting characters into history that intreagues me. I know that I can't change history but it's a hoot taking part in it after the event through my characters.

Birth Place

Graduate of the Australian Writing School. Once won a prize for the worst round of golf on the course that day!

Additional Information

Recent historical fiction novel 'Graves in the Wilderness' is moving along just fine and getting some very encouraging reviews. My current work, yet to be named (I never think about a name until I'm ready for the editors) will hopefully enjoy the same success. Although I have not named it, the hook is out there already : 'As the summer lynching season of 1892 loomed and America slid toward economic panic, the last thing anyone wanted to be was poor, black and in Louisiana.' Oh well, it works for me. It's a hard write but will, by design be an easy read ... just like Graves in the Wilderness'. Easy reads are fine with me; I dislike having to labor over a book and suggest that I'm not alone.
