Anna Marie Jaworski is, first and foremost, a mother; however, she is also an author, public speaker, editor, publisher and owner of Baby Hearts Press. She is also the wife of Frank Jaworski -- who has stood by her and supported all of her crazy ideas for over 20 years.

Background
Information
Anna Marie Jaworski is the mother of a child with a congenital heart defect. Unable to find inspiring information about her son's heart defect, Anna read medical textbooks and journals and decided to create the books she wanted to read herself. Inspired by other parents she met at the hospital and through the Internet, Anna became an editor when she put together over 60 stories from women from around the world who were affected by CHDs. Now she is working with fathers, grandfathers and adult men who were born with heart defects to put together another book of inspirational essays for the congenital heart defect community -- told from the male perspective.

Accomplishments
Perhaps Anna's greatest achievement was giving birth to two beautiful boys. In addition to that, Anna earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, Texas in Speech Pathology. Her Master of Education degree was earned from the University of Texas at Austin where she specialized in Curriculum and Instruction. As a teacher, Anna worked as a teacher of the deaf in a mainstream classroom for two years before moving to Austin to teach at Texas School for the Deaf as a middle school math teacher. At Killeen High School, the National Honor Society named Anna the Teacher of the Month in October, 1988.
Anna left teaching to raise her family when Joey was born. It was after the birth of her second son, Alex, that she first became a published author when a letter she sent to Critical Care Nurse was edited and became the Endnote for one of their issues. Not long after that, Anna published her first book. To see Anna's resume, please visit the Baby Hearts Press website.
Anna feels that the greatest achievements and "awards" she has been given are not necessarily ones of international recognition. Anna's achievements in life come from raising her children, challenging them and those around her and always setting goals and working towards something that is currently out of reach.

After many years of work, The Heart of a Father is finally published! This book is a labor of love by many. Over 120 men contacted Anna over 10 years but only 50 ended up contributing essays or poems that were included in the book. This book will help others in the congenital heart defect (CHD) community understand how men are affected by CHDs. Check out http://www.heartfather.com for book signings, interviews, more information about the contributors and events.
