After editing the work of other writers for the past 10 or more years, I decided to use my skills to pursue my own personal passion for writing. My first attempt at writing something that others would see was a short story for an anthology. Although it proved to be a little taxing because of the established deadline for submission, it was also quite liberating, and very therapeutic, as the story was autobiographical. Writing the story was a major step for me in that it caused me to confront some things from my past, and finally heal from them, in a very public way. My decision to write about my personal experiences was validated when I learned that my story was selected for publication. I feel good knowing that other people who may have had similar experiences may be helped through my willingness to be transparent.

First short story published October 2007 - "The Face I See in the Mirror is Not Mine" - in 'Tainted Mirror - An Anthology'.

I am in the process of completing my first fiction novel, and I already have ideas for the sequel. I've received favorable feedback about the beginning of the novel from a professional editor, so I am motivated to finish it as soon as possible. I have also begun writing a screenplay, and after recently attending a workshop on the basic steps of the process, I look forward to further developing this project in the future.
