Gary Ludwig has had a successful career writing fiction and non-fiction. He wrote a series of magazine articles about "The Blue Eyed Six", an infamous 19th Century Pennsylvania murder. The articles were later published in booklet form. Ludwig appears in a documentary film about the crime.

Background Information

Gary Ludwig has worked as a journalist in both the print and broadcast media, and has had a successful career writing fiction and non-fiction. He wrote a series of magazine articles about an infamous 19th Century Pennsylvania murder. The articles were later published in booklet form. Ludwig appears in the Kreider Brothers produced documentary film about the crime.

He is a member of a family of musicians and championship auto racing competitors. His mother was a country music singer, his father a guitarist.  Members of his family helped pioneer championship American automobile racing.

A week after graduating from high school he left home to work on the state and county fair circuit, spending months meeting and working with carnies, roustabouts, clowns, and famous and not so famous performers. He befriended the aged and legendary strongman “The Mighty Atom”, who gave him lessons about human nature and the entertainment business. After his military service running a small army radio station, Ludwig began his career in radio working as a copywriter, news and sports writer, marketing manager, morning radio host, and country music on-air disc jockey.

He began working in advertising, and before that was a columnist for New York based, nationally circulated weekly tabloid, Illustrated Speedway News while writing and anchoring news segments on the Speedsport Commentary Radio Network. Later he founded The Community Magazine, a former small regional magazine in Central Pennsylvania, writing news, commentary, lifestyle reports, plus feature articles while serving as publisher.

Ludwig has performed on stage, and has produced entertainment and sporting events,  working with nationally and internationally known entertainment and sports personalities. He has held marketing, media and public relations management positions in a variety of entertainment, sports, and business venues. He has sat on the Selection Committee, Central Chapter, Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame.

Ludwig appears before groups speaking about ethics in marketing, Pennsylvania German history, culture, and humor, and the history of American automobile racing, 

His gritty crime and romance novel Mexico Road was published in 2006, followed by the thriller The Angels and Demons of Hamlin in 2008. In 2009 Tommy Hinnershitz, The Life and Times of an Auto Racing Legend, his biography of the Indy 500 auto racing legend, was published.

His latest work is the true crime story The Death of Dr. Gilmore's Wife, published in 2012.

He resides in Pennsylvania and writes fiction and non-fiction.
