Angelo Saverino, Actor/Writer/Booking Agent/Radio Host
Prior to his becoming a full time sports agent, Angelo Saverino, was an executive at a major educational
publishing company in New York. It was during this period of time that he founded his sports representation
agency, which was a natural fit with his life long love of baseball.
Born in Columbus Hospital, New York City, to a dress maker and garment district worker, he dreamed of
having a career in the theater, often appearing in dramas and variety shows. Upon graduating from high
school Angelo enlisted in the United States Air Force. Being assigned to an intelligence unit, he served in
Istanbul, Turkey during the Viet Nam War. While in Turkey he hosted a radio call in show on WKAS,
After being honorably discharged from the Air Force he decided to follow a career in business, while at the
same time attending college as an evening student, earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business
Administration. He spent the next ten years in various executive positions in educational publishing. However,
the thought of entering into the field of entertainment was never far from his thoughts.
His big break came when he was introduced to New York Yankee great, Elston Howard. He and Elston formed
a lasting friendship and rapidly became business associates. During the following years Saverino developed
a large and successful agency representing many athletes in professional baseball and football. In addition to
athletic representation he also produced fund raising basketball games; operated summer baseball camps
and produced instructional recordings, all adding to the success of his new career.
Mr. Saverino is still actively involved in sports. Currently he is representing many former major league
baseball players. He and his son, Patrick, also operate a baseball instructional clinic.
He is also a writer who currently has two books in circulation. The Heart of the Order, which tells the story of
his years as a sports agent and Seven Turns of the Key, the story of his family's immigration from Sicily to New
York. Angelo is currently working on a third book, The Silent Bullet.
Saverino still maintains an acting career. He continues to refine his craft by studying acting at the Actors
Training Institute under the personal coaching of Mr. John Eyd, Artistic Director. When not writing books Angelo
can be found on the stage, television or appearing on the silver screen. Most recently he appeared as a Public
Defender on the hit TV series Law & Order. He is currently co-starring with the New York Dinner Theater
Company in the role of Father Neal Scalapini, in the musical comedy, Musheggner Godfather's Wedding. He
also has a major role in the spoof, The Soaprano's.
Angelo also is the host of a weekly talk radio show, Angelo’s ‘Shore’ Thing with Angelo Saverino. He is on
the air every Saturday morning at 11am on WOBM-AM, 1160 on the dial and streaming on www.wobmam.com, just press the listen button.
