Dean Forchette delivers raw, hard-hitting science fiction. Science fiction literature & film have so obviously influenced his work that the impact fairly explodes off the page. Action and detailed imagery are hallmarks that breathe life into his short stories and his first novel, THE CHIMERA VIRUS [a Techno-mythos, recipient of an honorable mention at the 2008 Atlantic City Beach Book Festival].

Background Information

Dean has rigorously pursued a self-competitive life as a soldier (having served as a security police team leader in S. Korea, and in Germany as a SO prep.), subsequently employed for twenty years as a graphic designer.  His hobbies have included fine art as a member of the League of Milwaukee Artists, bodybuilding for which he was recognized as runner up in the Mr. Midwest Titan Naturals Competition in the Masters Lightweight Division and trophied the Mr. Wisconsin State Championship.  His favorite authors are Tolkein, Verne, Burroughs, Wells, Patterson and King.  His favorite and most influential work is The Odyssey by Homer [translated by W.H.D. Rouse].

His three novels include: The Chimera Virus, Symbionts and Mindangels - collectively known as The Chimera Trilogy.  Find more information and convenient email links at: and, also visit me on Facebook.

Recently, The Chimera Virus has received an honorable mention in the 2008 Atlantic City, NJ Beach Book Festival.

Honorably discharged from the United States Army in 1972, Dean returned to college to receive his degree in commercial graphics specializing in corporate design and media communications focusing on corporate identity. He is the author of The Chimera Virus, his first novel, which is part one of his Techno-mythos, The Chimera Trilogy. Shortly out of college he published numerous poems, two short stories [The Physicist and The Day The Earth Froze Over (a sci-fi spoof). He also wrote two plays [The Physicist, based on his short story, which he co-produced and for which he designed the stage props, and Special Delivery]--both plays were performed in Milwaukee at the Metropole Theatre and The Milw. Little theatre respectively to good and notable reviews.
