Shirley Harshenin is a mother of three daughters, ages 27, 21 & 10, married to the love of her life since 1984, and has written poetry and short stories from as early an age as she can remember. She was born and raised in the beautiful Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, and continues to reside there with her family.
I Never Cried: Diary of a Troubled Teen (currently in the works) is based on her own teenage experiences, and was written with the aid of her “book of poems” which she kept as a "journal" during her growing up years. Shirley works from home as a freelance writer, freelance word puzzle constructor and
web page designer/builder, she enjoys wheat weaving, reading, spending time at the lake, and most importantly her family.
Her article “Word Lists and the Word Search Puzzle” was published in
Canadian Writer’s Journal in the Fall99 issue. She has many poems published on various online sites. I Never Cried is her first book. She also has in the works several children’s books, a novel based on a true story entitled, Reality Insane, and a second anthology of poems.
