I lived the 1st 18 yrs of my life, mostly on my Gramma's farm, just being a kid. I loved to sing, dance, be spontaneous, (much from upon by my german family and Methodist church)they called me "caddie" as a child. Some of the major influences in my life are my 5th grade teacher who didn't like my drawings or my poems or me. We were too different from all the other children's work. Also my parents, who were great to have birthed me, were always telling my to put a lid on it.( my life, I guess) Regardless of all these attempts to change who I am, my true self stayed hidden in safety until my hysterectomy, at age 47. I had over welling desires to draw and write. I was restricted to my bed so I was able to relax into the gifts that were sent to me. my 1st drawings and poems were automatic writing. I gained confidence in those 6wks and drew over 125 pieces and wrote 50 poem. I was being schooled. Now I receive such joy when I write or draw, and I hope my pieces will inspire others to let the true self live in the light.
