I learned to read when I was four and haven't put down a book since. My major influences are Henry Miller, Dr. Seuss, Jeanette Winterson, Jane Astin and Hunter S. Thompson. I planned to be an actress, so I got a BA in Drama from San Francisco State. After acting in a few plays, I realized my passion was for writing the words, not performing them. What fascinates me most in a story is when the character is pushed to their limit and must change or die. What do they do?
I started a small press called Medusa's Muse to publish those stories. The first book is from Laura Fogg and is called "Traveling Blind; Life Lessons from Unlikely Teachers." I'm publishing my own novel, "Life Without Gravity," in the Spring, and then an anthology of punk rock stories called "Punk Rock Saved My Ass" in fall, 2008.
