As a teenager, Michael Hogan made a career decision that set him on a course to become a successful entrepreneur, innovator and accomplished marketer. But during the time he spent managing businesses and people, Michael was also a prolific 'closet' copywriter; compiling an impressive portfolio of award-winning advertising, marketing and cross-media materials.
So, many years removed from his first career decision, Michael made another that reset his course to become a professional writer.
To date, Michael has completed many feature-length screenplays, as well as numerous short film scripts, webisodes and teleplays. His screenplays alone have garnered over 50 awards in major script competitions over the past four years. In 2008, Michael wrote, produced and directed The Gold Nugget (www.GoldNuggetFilm.com) and in 2010, two more of his award-winning short scripts, Room Service (www.RoomService-Film.com) and Just a Nibble (www.JustaNibble-Film.com) completed production. Each of these short films went on to become popular official selections on the film festival circuits in the US and Europe.
In 2012 Michael translated an existing family/adventure/sci-fi movie script into Sebastian and the Invisible Island; a 4-book serial e-novel for young readers (www.sebastianandtheinvisibleisland.com). The book series is available through Amazon.com; BarnesandNoble.com; Smashwords.com; the iBookstore for iPad and iPhone; and many other online retailers.
Michael currently splits his time between homes in Colorado and southern California; and can occasionally be found at his property on an island in Tonga, South Pacific.
