Valerie A. Howard holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Ashford University. She is currently enrolled in the Marriage and Family Therapy program at Capella University. She is a faithful member of the historic West Point Missionary Baptist Church where she serves as the Managing Editor and a featured writer of the church magazine, “The Point.” Valerie believes she is being used by God to affect change in the lives of women. Through her writing, she tries to address women’s issues and to provide godly solutions and principles to promote psychological and spiritual well being. Valerie lives in Chicago with her husband, Rev. Brian K. Howard. They have five children; Brandon, Briyona, Braelyn, Brea, and Brooke.

Valerie’s short story, “The Voice”, was published in the e-zine, Johnny America (www.JohnnyAmerica.net).

Valerie is currently working on her second novel, entitled, "After Bobby", about a family's attempt to recover after the tragic death of their son.
