As an Energy Engineer, I can apply scientific knowledge for the improvement of the overall use of energy. I am able to combine the skills of engineering with the knowledge of energy problems. I am able to identify problems in the use of energy, creatively design solutions, and implement the process. This type of engineering requires a system approach and is multidisciplinary in nature. As an Energy Engineer, I have engineering skills in electrical, mechanical, and process engineering, as well as good management knowledge.
I am familiar and have operated 1:10 scale models for the following:
Nuclear electric, supplied by a coal gasification plant
Hydroelectric plants using various turbines
Waste to Steam Incineration using various turbines to convert to electric (full size used in Red Wing, Minnesota
Wind Turbine farms, with meteorology and wind prospecting
Passive Solar on-site fruit dryers working models
In 1983, I invented passive solar water heater using an old world concept and modern technology. My new innovative technology incorporated a double glazing of poly-acrylic into a parabolic curve. This method increased the collection surface by 300 times in both visible and invisible spectrums of light. A parabolic trough for reflection to the absorption area also increased the collection surface both visible and invisible spectrums of light. This design incorporated the use of recycled domestic electric water heaters. The invention was named the Chad1ฎ.
In 1984, I concluded a feasibility study and submitted proposal for a waste to steam incinerator for the city of Duluth, Minnesota and the Lake Superior Sanitary District.
In 1985, My Company, Richards Aqua-Sun, Int. became the National distributor for Stentor Engineering, manufactures of a retro-fit microprocessor for force air and boiler water base board heating systems for homes. The distributorship consisted of 32 states and 23 dealers.
In 1986, I was awarded contracts from Minnesota Power and Light Company in Duluth, MN. These contracts were to perform RCS (Residential and Commercial Survey) energy audits in homes serviced by MP&L. This was part of the Federal and State Super Insulation Program.
Environmental Experience
Forest Harvesting: In the late 1970s and early 1980s in Northern Minnesota, stumpage in section could be purchased for the removal of all trees. Timber breaks were used to prevent soil erosion, maintain wildlife habitat and to aid in reseeding. Equipment used, chainsaw, cable skidder, grapple skidder, feller bunchier, processor, and conveyor system. In the forest harvesting business firewood and pulp for paper production were the main source of profit. Saw log bolts were also sold for lumber production purposes.
In the mid to late 1980s I worked for a chemical manufacture of cleaning chemicals and had the experience of working with environmentally safe products. The company manufactured mainly enzymes and non-petroleum distillates, with a focus on disinfectants and stain removal, using non-masking agents.
In 1998, I went to work for a bio-solids processor of residential and commercial sewage. The waste was dewatered, de-gritted, and treated for contamination and processing to produce a top soil. The company also preformed drain cleaning and drain field restoration. This is where I also obtained several licenses and certifications.

In 2003, I became a Supervisor for the company and was responsible for the generation of $2.3 to $2.7 million in yearly revenues. I supervised 8 counties, 6 in New York, and 2 in Pennsylvania. A press dewatering and de-gritting system for raw sewage to convert to a rich top soil or farm spread fertilizer. Our plant processed approx. 19,000 to 23,000 gallons of raw sewage from both commercial and residential septic and grease tanks per day.
