Reece Herring is a California resident with a passion for writing fantasy and romance.

Background Information

I am a thirty-one year old wife and mother. I have been an avid reader all my life but when I started reading fantasy around eleven years old I found a genre I immediately fell in love with.

My first fantasy books were Mercedes Lackey the Herald Mage series. From there I was hooked and read Terry Brooks, David Eddings, Robert Jordan, Piers Anthony, Marion Zimmer Bradley, Robin Hobb, Tad Williams and any other fantasy author I could get my hands on.

As I got older, I expanded my horizons and grew to love many historical writers such as Margaret George or Sharon Kay Penman. Diana Galdon has such a mix of genres but she captured me from her first book.

Somewhere in my twenties I decided to try my hand at a novel. I wrote sporadically with no real thought to publication but once I reached the looming age of thirty I determined to make a hearty effort towards publication.

I took a writing course through Long Ridge Writers Group and graduated this year. I was also thrilled to have two stories published with The WIld Rose Press and another contracted for publication.
