I've been writing for as long as I can remember, but it wasn't until about two years ago that I started taking it seriously. I was diagnosed with a brain tumor that could have been fatal, had it not been for the doctors and nurses who saved my life. It was after my surgery and during my one month recovery that i began to read Edgar Allen Poe. His writing amazed me and opened my eyes to the possibility of expanding what little writing experience I possessed, so I took the initiative and started typing away. I haven't stopped since and I don't mean to anytime soon. I enjoy writing short stories because the possibilities are endless. I've attempted a novel and failed miserably (I'll try again when I'm ready). I like fantasy and horror, literature and fiction, and even some comedy books.

The Secret Writings of Ivan Christianson is a compellation of short stories and poems that have amassed over the past ten years within my various notebooks and computer files. I have collected the very finest of my stories and my very favorite poems and compiled a short yet substantial anthology. The subjects of my stories include: A marooned pirate captain and his final hours, A desperate husband’s revenge upon his adulterous wife, An insomniac’s night fancies and terrors, A cancer patient’s trials and his mysterious guardian angel, The triumphs and tribulations of hiring an assassin (as told through the employer, assassin and victims), and an insect destined for greatness. The poems I have arranged are mainly to do with love and loss. A few are simply fun works of art that I’d included to brighten up the mood of the book.
