Mukul is a spiritual writer. His writings highlight how Hindus search for God and integrate lessons from ancient Indian literature with contemporary relevance. Out of the numerous routes available to reach God, he is attracted to Bhakti Yoga and considers continual remembrance of God the finest way of recognizing our relationship with him.
Besides Indian spirituality and philosophy, Mukul is engaged in the independent study of classical music. Like many other musicians, he believes that music becomes a primary way of connecting to the Self when vibrations are generated with the feel of a mantra. As a result, his participation in Indian music as an improviser of ragas and a player of tabla (percussion) complements his search for the Divine through writing.
Earlier, Mukul completed a PhD in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering from UPenn and a BS (Chem Engg) from the New Jersey Institute of Technology. He also obtained a Bachelor’s degree (Sangit Prabhakar) in Indian classical music.
