I was born in Quincy, Massachusetts and moved to Milton where I went to Milton High School. I went on to University of Massachusetts, Amherst where I majored in English. From there I went to University of Montana for an MFA. I studied with Richard Hugo and William Kitteridge.
I taught for two years at Iranzamin International School in Iran. When I returned to the United States I taught at Curry College and part time at Stonehill College. I completed an MA in Composition at UMass-Boston.
My first book of poems, Flying, was published by the Edwin Mellen Press. Ibbetson Street Press published a chapbook entitled Walk Out and The Blue Light Press published What We Love. I have also had stories and articles in Fiction International, The North American Review, The Boston Herald and The Boston Globe.
