Reflections from the author:
Creativity is near to my heart. Everyday is an opportunity to make something wonderful happen.
Returning to college as a non-traditional student has proved to be one of the best decisions I made in my life. One of my fondest and proudest moments came when my former African American Literature Professor invited me to speak at her retirement party at LaGuardia Community College. When I walked in the room there was a large screen projector that continually displayed works of art that I had created especially for her in appreciation of the inspiration, education and mentorship she has given me. I created a poem inspired by her which she requested I read. As I read in public for the first time in my life, I realized this professor gave me a platform to show what she helped to inspire in me.
I believe AuthorsDen will provide me a continual platform to get acquainted with my reading audience, building a fan base and growing in writing capabilities. I hope that my readers will be uplifted, encouraged and inspired as they become acquainted with J. Farnum.
