David Wilde has been a long time researcher/independent scholar based at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque since 1984. He is proud to be originally from South Wales.


Background Information

Here, at the University New Mexico  he continues to write and has written on such diverse and specific topics as southwestern history and local biography.  A quick search will show just how many titles are currently and publicly available amounting to something like just over 37 titles listed online. 
 
His monograph of Commander EC Zeke Cortez is now awaiting its own début, currently completed which is shortly to be published by Edwin Mellen Press of New York, An earlier less formal edition has been available for some time at several research libraries including the Naval Historical Center in Washington DC, the National Archives as well as the University of New Mexico.

Visiting Music Fellow, Resident Chamber Music Performance, 1973 1978

Director International Convention, Loughborough University (1979)
Designed project, hired artists and speakers, developed program and initiated itinerary and fund raising for Music Convention. Implemented media coverage and advertising for project and ticket sales and marketing.

Manager 1973/1979
Managed and performed in "Etesian Wind Ensemble," resident Artists and Visiting Fellows at Loughborough University. Coordinated concerts including performances, materials and personnel in the United Kingdom. Negotiated contracts and fees. Instrumental in obtaining contract as "First Official Resident Music Group," with Loughborough University of Technology during a challenging period of change.

Activities and Societies: Visiting Fellow Loughborough University of Technology, Professor. 1973/1979

Actively assisted in initiating and developing the Music Department program in the formative first three years. Planned and directed a tutoring program for individual students, with different levels of academic backgrounds, and developed programs for the University Concert series.

Royal Academy of Music, U. of London

Activities and Societies: Regularly played with the RAM orchestra including Royal Festival Hall concerts in the 1960s and '70s as well as many London area orchestras and pit orchestras.

Royal Military Academy
Diploma, music performance, 1964 1965

Taught by leading musicians from top London Orchestras of which there are currently 5 professional full time orchestras in the London area. My instructor, Alfred Cursue, was a member of the famous Horn quartet with Dennis Brain, principle horn of the Haydn Symphony #31 "Horn Signal" ................................

Also attended and performed in the Ernest Read Music Association in both 1964 and 1965 as well as the Royal Academy of Music Symphony Orchestra.

PARIS INTERNATIONAL POETRY CONTEST: MARCH 2008 UNIVERSITY X NANTERE EXHIBITION Most recently poetry was published in Paris at the University of Nanterre in March 2008 and is awaiting being published in July on the website http://www.decirdelagua.com the Spanish poetry website. Also David anticipates being published "Obras Completas" in the Spring of '09
