An ex actress who wrote plays when touring to avoid royalties, animal nut who somehow became an accidental novelist!

Background Information

Asked to write a short article for a local magazine, like Topsy it grew and grew until I realised that I had written 100,000 words. I had no idea what to do with them---then my son had the idea of sending the finished work off to a small local independent publisher. The rest is history (well, in our family, anyway!).  Finding 'Lillians Story----One Woman's Journey through the 20th Century' published has been incredibly exciting.

Dora Bryan fell in love with the book and attended both my book signings as well as writing the foreword.  My stature amonst the younger members of the family when through the roof when Tom Baker wrote to me telling me that he loved the nove.l !'Lillian's Story' came out in Large Print Prunella Scales  told me she was interested in reading it for audio book---what a compliment from such a great lady. Sadly my publishers were not interstd in pursuing this option. But I am eternally grateful to the friend who suggested I publish it on eBook.

I took his advice and published it on eBook, along with my second novel -'The Sweetest Empire' -dedicated to 'Generationsof women who refused to know their place. Spanning from 1868-1966 it describes the efforts and experiences of a few women to acheive the emancipation of all.'  Very close to my heart,  I was very chuffed to find it  being recommended on several womens sites.

I then uploaded my fourth novel, 'Painting by Numbers', a very different story.  It led me down many physchological highways and byways. It is told by four different voices and leads to a cataclysmic climax, I am told it is my Marmite book - you either love it or hate it. It's probably my own favourite because I had such fun writing it!

'Finding Cordelia' followed in 2013, both a romance and a reflection of life in the 60's 70's for women. And i really gave in to my passion for animals and set much of it in an animal sanctuary, and one of the leading characters is a vet.

I was then persauded to put a collection of short stories on Kindle, 'The Pottery Tales'. i have been overwhelmed by the attention my books have received, and that I am writing at a time when eBook gives writers a chance to reach millions of people. And I am still immensely flatterd that so many people buy my books!!

Novel number 5 is well on the way., as long as I don't get too distracted by all our animals, a very real temptation in our house.

All my books are available in paperback, and accessible via my web site.
