Award-winning author, essayist, and playwright. First professional sale was to Playboy.com. Active in the comics industry and the F/SF community. Noted for short stories and essays pertaining to Robert E. Howard. Currently contributing essays and consulting for Dark Horse Comics.

Additional Information

My most recent book is a biography of Robert E. Howard, titled "Blood & Thunder: The Life and Art of Robert E. Howard." I also wrote "Gods New & Used" and "Year of the Hare," as well as a bunch of short stories, essays, and articles. Now that I've finished "Blood & Thunder," I'm going back to work on "Replacement Gorilla." Clay Stark, seen in "A Whim of Circumstance" in the Anthology Cross Plains Universe, is the subject of a mystery set in Hollywood, circa 1936. Stay tuned.
