Young Writer:
Thirteen-Year Old Author Publishes First Book
Boston, MA – June 24th – Thirteen-year old Tyler Ramsay, a resident of Massachusetts, has published a pre-teen book by using Lulu.com, the online marketplace for digital content.
Mr. Ramsay began writing his 64-page science-fiction book in 2006. He finished the book, titled “Gamma229 and the Battle for Earth,” in 2007. Mrs. Carolyn Wynn, who was Mr. Ramsay’s sixth grade English teacher in 2006, inspired him to begin his journey of publishing his first book.
Kelley O’Neil comments, “It's great to see our children and future community leaders doing something positive and striving to make their dreams a reality. This is truly a beautiful thing to witness. Tyler’s success is something we can all celebrate; his positive energy and enthusiasm will surely motivate his peers to turn their own dreams into reality.”
Mr. Ramsay’s book is divided into three separate parts, all of which were written over a course of two years. Formal editing, illustrating, and publishing the book consumed the final year of Mr. Ramsay’s success. The nine black-and-white illustrations in “Gamma229 and the Battle for Earth” were drawn by Grinning Moon Creative, a company stationed in New Hampshire who also edited the book.
Mr. Ramsay notes: “I think of this as my first step through the door as an author. Ever since I was little, I have been dreaming of seeing a published work of mine on a bookshelf in a library or a bookstore.”
One of Mr. Ramsay’s focal objectives is to raise money for the Jane Doe Foundation for Domestic Violence. Mr. Ramsay dedicated his first book to his classmate and mother who passed while he was in the midst of writing the book. “Gamma229 and the Battle for Earth” is available for purchase at www.bn.com( Barnesand Noble) www.amazon.com and www.lulu.com/tramsay
