I grew up in Butte, Montana. After a major injury I was left with a seizure disorder. I struggled with education. Teachers told my parents they would be lucky if I graduated from high school. I went on to College and recieved my BS in Secondary Education with endorsement in Special Education K-12, Music K-12 and Reading K-12. I have taught in Montana, Idaho, and Las Vegas Nevada. I have raised two boys as single parent after my divorce. I have lived a fairly normal life, as much as anyone else who goes through raising children, divorce, moving around and changing jobs. I have had many experiences in my life which I am always sharing with others. My mother , God rest her soul, always wanted me to write my experiences down and share them. Now that is what I have begun to do. I wish I had started sooner but I am glad to be doing it now. I have been influenced by everyone who as touched my life in one way or another. I find that writing is a very good release and a way to cleanse the soul I will continue to write as long as I am able to.I started writing as a release after my divorce. I began writing music lyrics which I did just for me. I started putting everything in a journal which I still have. I went some time with out writing and then through my experiences on the internet found poetry.com. I began writing poetry which I thoroughly enjoy. I have taught special education for over thirty years and I have used poetry with my students to teach them how to write and convey their thoughts. I now have them also using poetry.com. I attended the International Poetry Symposium Conference in Las Vegas in 2007 and met extrodinary people there. This enhanced my dream of publishing. I have written many short children stories and I have several manuscripts started. However, I didn't know what to do with them. I am now in the process of exploring my options. I am reaching retirement and will have more time for my writing. Through classmates.com I found a schoolmate who is an author , Steve Knutson. He has shared his book with me and we communicate frequently about writing. He told me about authors den. I am finding that all of my experiences with writing are very rewarding and offer me many friendships as we share our stories. I first want to publish my book on poetry. Then I will publish a childrens manuscript and then an autobiography of my growing up years, which is almost completed. I hope that authors out there will check my poetry on poetry.com until I am published. I will continue to update my work as it becomes a published product.
