'You don't know the power of the Dark Side.'

Background Information

So, why do I write? Because I'm afraid of working for a living, obviously. No, I write because I love what I do. Few things give me a greater kick than the writing process itself and, obviously, recieving positive feedback and constructive criticism about my work.

I'm a huge fan of George Orwell, and have read all his major works and a lot of his journalism. I don't see myself as the next Orwell or anything like that, though. As far as I'm concerned, writing can be as self-indulgent a profession as any and considerably more than some, and that's without writers assuming ideas above their station.

Aside from enjoying the writing process for its own sake, I admit that I enjoy having my work appreciated and get a kick out of seeing my name in print. I'm not really into false modesty any more than arrogance, but I like what I do and am reasonably good at it.
