Linda Cargill graduated from Bethel Park High School in Bethel Park, Pennsylvania. She was a National Merit Finalist and got an honorable mention in the Atlantic Monthly writing contest for high school students for her short story Old Man Cactus. She attended Bryn Mawr College as an archaeology major. In the middle of her junior year she transferred to Duke University where she went on to graduate with high honors with a B.A. in English. She got her M.A. in English at Duke and moved to Charlottesville, Virginia with her husband, Gary, who had just graduated from Duke Law School and had taken a job with the National Legal Research Group, then just the Research Group. She enrolled in the M.Ed. program at the University of Virginia and got her degree. She taught English briefly. From then on she has devoted full-time to writing novels. She has published 64 young adult mystery thriller and supernatural novels. She has also published two adult novels, both from Cheops Books. The first was To Follow the Goddess, an historical novel about the Trojan War from the point-of-view of Helen which placed in the National Writers Contest. The second was The Black Stone in which she recreates the next 9/11. Next January Cheops Books will publish Those Who Dream By Day, the first in a three volume series entitled 2014. The first volume imagines the sabotage behind the second explosion about the Lusitania during World War I.
