Even as a child, I loved to tell stories and my dolls provided a captive audience. Eventually I began writing down poems, tales and a journal entitled “History to Hand Down to My Children’s Children’s Children.” I felt my children would want to know as much about me as I did about my ancestors. Along with my love of history, I developed an interest in science. So it was only natural as I grew older, I incorporated what I learned from these two areas of study into my narratives.
I set aside writing after college when I started a family. Working and helping raise four children kept me busy even though their story-telling was quite entertaining at times. It was my husband who reminded me writing was inherent to my soul and gently pushed me on the journey to being a published author.
I wrote this book because two things I love are so much alike. Maps are similar to books because they can take you places you have never been. My young adult action adventure "The Secret of Wellington's Map" was published in June, 2008.
