"I doubted the streets of Charleston were overrun with reptile handlers who had office experience." Susan in We Interrupt This Date

Background Information

We Interrupt This Date has a brand new cover, a brand new 5 star review, and today is ranked number 40 in humor on Amazon Kindle. This book made respected reviewer Red Adept's top indie books of 2010 list.

I grew up in a small town on Florida's Gulf Coast and decided to use that area as the setting for my horse mysteries. However, I did change the name of the town and make it fiction, since I also took a few liberties with the local landscape. I now live in North Carolina and I'm planning a new book set in the tarheel state, though the second in the Leigh McRae story still has the same setting of a small Florida Gulf Coast town. In addition to being a writer, I'm an avid reader. Mysteries are my favorite genre, though that doesn't stop me from reading everything else.

Review of Jobless Recovery, Second Edition (now on sale at Amazon's Kindle store for only .99! )

"Jobless Recovery" What could be a "gloom and doom" story, Evan's ready wit turns into a fast-paced and often hilarious account of people trying to cope by whatever means they can -- and hopefully staying on the right side of the law.
To Evan's credit, she does not end the book with a miraculous job offer for Dave or with the government suddenly paying attention and vowing to end discriminatory practices. Instead, Dave finds a practical solution by facing reality and teaming up with his fellow-unemployed.
While the subject matter is serious, Evan's witty observations and humorous jabs at society's ills make the story a fun read even as she examines one of the bitterest pills our country's workers have had to swallow. Sandra M. Bruney
