Lynn Carney writes southern fiction and women's fiction with a literary slant, emphasizing narrative, voice and the rhythm of her words using skills she developed as an award-winning poet. Her major influences are published authors among her peers who blazed the trail and held the light when she found the path to fiction.
She is also inspired by the storytelling skills of Nicholas Sparks, Dorothy Allison, O' Henry, James Patterson, Ann Tyler and Elizabeth Berg.
Pushcart nominee for 2010, Lynn Carney's award-winning short stories are featured in several anthologies. She lives and writes in the beautiful Arkansas Ozarks.
When she critiques other writers, Lynn endeavors to protect each writer’s unique voice and preserve the rhythm and meter of their words, believing that - after a writer learns and applies the essential elements of fiction - voice and originality become key factors that determine the “pure pleasure factor” for a reader, which helps an author avoid the over-work-shopped “cookie cutter” novel.
