A former Arvon Foundation award winner, her work ranges from the hard-hitting emotional impact of her acclaimed debut novel, gay drama Breaking Faith, through paranormal, magic realism, horror, fantasy, romance, and cross-genre mainstream fiction, to side-splitting screwball humour. 

Currently, she has several titles available, with novels including 1970s-set glam rock murder mystery Daemon, gritty, urban drama Filth, modern gay romance Devil & the Deep Blue Sea, and magic realist fantasy Angelfish.

During the infrequent instances she is not writing, M. King enjoys dabbling in her herb garden, taking long and muddy walks with her dogs, and falling off horses. A long-term CFS sufferer, she has lived in most places around the UK, and now resides in a damp and verdant corner of West Cornwall, where she may usually be found behind a keyboard and a vat of coffee.
