It took God 6 days to create the world, but he has spent more than 50 years working on me. I must be a tough nut to crack.

Background Information

Why do I write? There should be an easy answer to this question but I'm darned if I can find one. Sometimes my heart aches over my many losses and at other times I am overjoyed by the way things have turned out. I was an emotionally troubled child who was not allowed to just BE ME, so it has taken me a long time to make the discovery of just who I am and how I fit in this world.

I rarely spoke, except to siblings and a few friends, and my husband of 10 years, when he allowed it but I did have an ultra rich inner world where all the color and savy and bravery was nicely hidden, til one day, just out of the blue as it were, I began to voice my opinions about a lot of things. I became dangerous to some and my family was horrified by this sudden outburst and very quickly labeled me "untouchable." After all, who has ever heard a mouse roar like a lion after decades of acting all mousy with everyone? I can't blame them though as they prefer to remain mices or mice, or mouses.

So here I am roaring loudly and unapologetically from my little mouse hole in the wall of my den. This somewhat rapid evolution has sometimes taken me by surprise when I hear stuff coming out of my mouth with such authentic conviction. I'm getting use to it, to speaking of what I know, of what I love, and of what might assist any other mouses who wish to roar.

I earned a degree in Social work a few years ago and have also worked as a preschool teach and a practical nurse. But my first love is painting, followed closely by writing. Combining the two has been such fun as of late, so I think I'll just keep doing it until it isn't fun any more. Then I'll do something else.

Another part of my brain can be found musing over grand questions arising from such disciplines as mathematics; quantum physics, the matrix, string theory, chaos thoery, probability, fractals, Pi, the golden ratio, the place number 0, and photon entanglement.

I use to dance Hawaiian dance a few years ago. I've painted a 44 ft. mural for a children's play, and I use to fly single engine aircraft. I also have a kazillion paintings floating around in our town, our gallery, and in our home.  yikes!

Favourite movies: The Diving Bell and the Butterfly, Little Voice, Shirely Valentine, Metropolis, Fargo, Anything else by the Coen Bros., August Rush, In Debt We Trust, Duck, Nosferatu, The Sea Inside, Vitus, Where the Green Ants Go To Dream, many other foreign films, Itallian, French, Polish, Belgian, German, Australian.

Accomplishments

Married to my best friend and live peacefully in a wee town with our wee dog Jackson, named after the expressionist painter, Jackson Pollock who was affectionately known by many of his friends as "Jack the dribbler." Need I say more?

I have taken numerous courses in painting, cartooning, creative writing, public speaking, and miming. I have given painting lessons both privately and for the local arts council and have shown my work in four local galleries.
Lots of education which continues to this day, along with oodles of singing and writing experiences.

Additional Information

Authors, play writes, directors: Shakespeare,Hamlet and (Mackers) for sure. Tolstoy, C.S. Lewis, George MacDonald, Og Mandino, M Scott Pecks' People of the Lie, Werner Hertzog; what a ride! Favourite poem: Five in the Afternoon by Lorca. Lover of iambic pentameter, Bollywood and other foreign films. Lots of documentaries are stored in the convolutions of my cerebral cortex. Obviously tres (very) eclectic gal here. All of the above influence my work greatly.
