My writing career started writing in 1991 after coming up with some great comic book ideas. I've dabbled in comic books and fan fiction for years and finally decided to hit the stands myself.
About two years ago, my wife and inspiration, pushed me to convert my comic book adventures into short stories and No Vacancies was developed. The book uses the concept of serialized fiction, offering multiple short stories, complete with unique characters and settings. Two of the stories in the book, Outcast and High Stakes will continue in future volumes of No Vacancies, offering readers the chance to follow multiple storylines at one time. My expectation is that every six months or so, I will release a new volume of the series. I am currently working on book 2 of No Vacancies.
As part of my writing, I try to incorporate personal experiences with paranormal events. I think writers can create stories of the unimaginable as long as there is a basis in reality. It is the realism of real life that makes good fiction, great.
I reside in southern California with my family and am excited at the opportunity to share my thoughts, ideas and creations with the readers.
My influences come from various medium including comic books and fiction. Some of my favorites include authors Orson Scott Card, Lee Child, Garth NIx, Nelson DeMille, Stephen Ambrose, Margaret Weiss and Tracy Hickman, Stephen J. Cannell. Joss Whedon is also a great influence.
The comic book writings of Frank Miller, Alan Moore, Chris Claremont, Alan Davis and J Michael Stazynski are some of my favorites. My all time favorite comic book series are always the ones that people forget about. Marvel's The Clan Destine is one of the best written comic books that was produced in the past 20 years. Excalibur is also a fabulous series. My all time favorite though, Alpha Flight. The staff at Marvel blended the incredible abilities of a team of superheroes with absolutel real life drama that made that series near perfect.
