Iím a funhound, an entrepreneur, and a serial adventurer--when I manage to stay healthy...
I grew up in Western Massachusetts, where I spent my time racing motorcycles, skiing, and looking for adventures wherever I could find them.I attended WilliamsCollege, where as an editor of a political journal, I first discovered the delights of writing. After graduation, I lived and worked in many of Boston's urban neighborhoods, mostly as a real estate developer, including Back Bay, Beacon Hill, the South End, and Chelsea. Before my 30th birthday I fell ill, and I spent the next 12 years housebound—and often bedridden--with severe Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.Early in my illness, during a year when I was unable to leave my bed, read, or even listen to music, I began to write a novel in my head to entertain myself. In the years that followed, as my condition gradually improved, I began to type the story a little at a time.I had many health setbacks and relapses during that decade, but I continued to write every day I had the strength. The Max Lovely mystery series, set in Boston, is a product of those years of silence and internal life.I have since recovered my health and I’m living an active life in Fort Myers, Florida.
I have just published The Chosen Few, the first book in my Max Lovely mystery series. The second book in the series, That's What Little Boys Are Made Of, will come out soon.
