I have taught Communication for over 40 years--in high school, small liberal arts colleges, and at universities. Now I am retired and finally free to write what interests me, in a way that interests me. My first writing endeavor following my retirrement was to start several blogs and post on them with regularity. Recently, I have been working on a work of fiction through the auspices of the online group "NaNoWriMo," which encourages its members to "produce" a 50,000 word novel during the month of November (quantity, not quality is the byword). I have also written a number of articles for online submission.
However, I have not forgotten my academic past. During my career, I conducted an extensive number of research studies and published the findings in numerous scholarly journals. Several texbooks that I created or helped to create came and went through numerous student hands. My research on my favorite subject sarcasm was compiled into a volume that was published by Edwin Mellen Press. You can find it at www.mellenpress.com under "Authors"--"R" for "Rockwell, Patricia."
