Writing has always been a part of me. Putting words on paper was a way to release emotions. I started storytelling as a young child when I told them to my cousins and made them laugh. I started writing poetry as a teenager and made attempts at writing mysteries. I have several volumes of poetry and have written several books. None of the books have been published but much of the poetry has appeared in several publications.
My love of reading made me want to write. My favorite mystery writers, i.e. Mary Stewart, Mary Roberts Rinehart, Mignon Eberhart, Stanley Gardner, and Agatha Christie; challenged me to try my own.
My education level made it difficult to write really well. However, English and Literature were my honor grades in school. I attended business college and a semester of oral communication in college. I am graduate with honors and doctorate from the College of Hard Knocks!
My career of Administrative Secretary and raising two wonderful young men, left little time to pursue my writing career. I never gave it up and completed my first full-length mystery novel in 1986. Since then life has been much of a roller coaster and I have not tried to get it published. Now, I have an offer and plan to go for it. I have one book waiting for some adjustments at lulu.com before I open it to public sale.
