In 2003, I return to college after a twenty year haitus. At that time my daughter was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. Fast foward four years later, my daughter manages to graduate high school and attend college on a merit scholarship. I complete college graduating summa cum laude. With the blessings and advice of five professor, I attended the IDCP program at Marist College. I successfully completed the scholarship program and earned seven certifications as well as 35 college credits.
To make a long story short, I became more involved with various fundraising events both on the campus and at work. With the COT club we had a bake sale to raise monies for dress for success. At work I participated in the Race For the Cure breast cancer walk in 2006, follow by the MS Walk in 2007, and then the Aids Walk in 2008.
By then I had design my web site: http://andzigalleryonline.info which provides information on social causes such as multiple sclerosis, aids, breast cancer, and information on various other causes. Originally, AnDzi Gallery was designed to display my flyers, photos, and calendars that I created for others. However, the more I became involved with these causes, fundraising and getting information about other causes, it become more of a mission to get the word about on different causes. Knowing that I could not possibly support all causes but maybe a handful, I added a directory http://andzigalleryonline.info/directory.html.
I was recently diagnosed with Stage I breast cancer and the information I had on my web sites may have saved my life. The tumor was found in the upper side of my left breast. It hadn't spread to the surrounding areas nor has it spread to my lymph node. Read more about breast cancer on my lens, http://www.squidoo.com/andzigalleryBreastCancer. I had a sentinal lymph node biopsy on October 30, 2008 and went home that same day. I was told on my post operative visit that because of the type of cancer I had, I would have to go on chemotherapy for four months. My experience can be good or bad depending on whose looking. But I know a lot more about Breast Cancer than before my prediagnosed days. I can provide others with a wealth of information. I'm just happy to be alive and I still can function and I don't feel if I'm going to die. Not yet--not now--anyway.
Enough said, read more about me at http://andzigalleryonline.info/aboutme.html. Check out http://andzigalleryonline.info/poetry.html. Feel free to roam around the site. Also visit http://www.squidoo.com/andzigalleryforsocialcauses. All these sites were created by me from scratch on causes I feel passionate about. Visit these sites and you will pretty much understand why, I think!
