My latest book - "A Ruinous and Unhappy War: New England and the War of 1812" was released by Algora Publishing early in 2009 and is available in hardcover or paperback from Amazon, Barnes and Noble as well as the publisher. The 317-page book relates the untold and fascinating story of the Second War of Independence as it played out in that oldest region of the country - New England. Material from period sources (diaries, journals, logs, letters, government documents, newspapers) form the core of the account that presents tales of common folk caught up in unwanted turmoil. The book is geared to the upcoming bicentennial of the war.
