I have been told that my prose is more in line with a story teller instead of a published author. I guess some people like this style, at least I hope they do. My writing comes from my vivid imagination. I am an artist ( although not professionally ) painting with oils, and some acrylic. The term Crafty is now used often when someone does things with their hands. Historical Fiction is what I do best. In fact, I re-live history when I and many others re-enact the pre-1840 western fur trade era. You can really get to know your forefathers by portraying them. I really started writing in earnest when on a canoeing/camping trip down in Misouri. One of the young one in our family had never heard a ghost story, while sitting around a campfire. I sat down and wrote one before we went on the trip. It turned out so well, that when I got back home, I sat down and wrote nine more. These I had published into a small book called Campfire Tales. Imagine that! As for the Historical Fiction, well that came about from watching Daniel Boone when I was a kid. I loved those long black powder guns as well as the tomahawks and knives. Now I have several guns , hawks, and knives. For a very long period in my life, those tomahawks were a constant. My family also got involved with me in most of the competitions held back then.
I have been married to my wife Kathy for forty four years. We have two grown childrenand several grandchildrenplus four great-grandchildren. I still like to canoe, and go down to our turkey hunting camp. I don't hunt anymore, but do like to look at the critters.
