Nothing more important than the reader feeling like they are across a fire listening to a good yarn being spun.
Background
Information
Clinton D. Harding is a fresh new author. As a boy he began by writing short fiction and creating comic books to entertain family and friends. Years later, a college professor encouraged him to pursue a career in writing, preferring the author’s fiction over formulaic essays. Though Clinton works as a credit analyst, his heart is devoted to his craft.
He credits Stephen King with inspiring him to take up writing fiction. For much of his youth he detested reading, preferring to look at comic book panels and make up his own story by interpreting the action in the scenes. When he was in middle school, King's The Stand was given to him by his father. Clinton was so enthralled by the storytelling, feeling like King was speaking into his ear, a narrator across a campfire. Today, Clinton infuses his reading with that same storytelling, preferring his narrations to appear as if slipping off a silver tongue, while bringing dramatic actions reminiscent of something from the comics he loved as a boy.
These days, Clinton still reads Stephen King but also enjoys Neil Gaiman, Jim Butcher, Terry Brooks, Robert R. McCammon... "Anything that scares me and entrances me with a sense of wonder."
Currently Clinton resides in Southern California with his wife, Kathy, and their Scottish terrier, Mac.
