I am a fiction author, international teacher and full-time nutcase. I trained as a social scientist, which probably explains everything, but apart from this I am quite human.

I have always loved reading and writing. I also love to laugh, and raising money for charity. I am currently using proceeds from my ebook Moldavite to raise money for a cancer research charity. I hope my readers will find it a good feeling to buy a book and know that they are helping others through their reading. Ebooks also make great gifts for loved ones, especially now that Christmas is around the corner!
My writing is seriously humorous, in every sense. I believe that laughter is therapy, and also a wonderful way of finding and expressing truths about life. I tend to find myself laughing most about the things I take most seriously. I hope I am not alone! Please come back and visit again, and I love hearing from my readers.
The influences on my writing are probably too numerous to mention, and perhaps even unconscious. I adore Jane Austen for the way she uses irony and for her superb observations of people. I am a great fan of Dorothy Dunnett, whose books I could read over and over again and still find something new in. Diana Gabaldon is another fascinating writer. I could go on forever.

My novel 'Moldavite' is available for download at www.myebook/meiraeliot. Moldavite is the name of a semi-precious stone found in the Bohemian basin in Czech Republic. It is the only stone on earth that is of extra-terrestrial origin. This stone plays an important part in the novel, which is also a tongue-in-cheek look at corporate education, the English and life in Prague. Enjoy!
