After high school, McCaffrey spent 11 years as a full-time volunteer before being forced by circumstances to enter the job market.  Driven by a desire to fulfill financial responsibilities and return to full-time volunteer work as soon as possible, he managed to retire at 43.  Now retired from mortgage banking and real estate development, he spends his time caring for investments and devoting 70 hours a month to volunteer work.  His new book offers an objective forum in which to present the First Cause debate--along with his own views and very candid criticism of arguments from both sides that he considers invalid.  His is a frame of reference  insulated from professional religionists or scientists expected to have agendas unavoidably impacting their objectivity.  Over 30 years of study and thought on the subject show up in his book bursting with important ideas the reader won't likely be exposed to elsewhere.
