NEWS FLASH: MAY 1, 2004 MY THIRD PUBLICATION OF MY POETRY BOOK WON A TROPHY AT THE OKLAHOMA WRITERS' FEDERATION INC. ANNUAL AWARDS BANQUET AND CONTESTS. ORDER "CAN A MOTHER DIE OF A BROKEN HEART" NOW WHILE THEY LAST!  Bio: Scholarships to Quartz Mountain Art Institute in Oklahoma have had a great influence. I studied with poet Donald Hall, actor, Richard Dressler, poet, Mike Logan, Children's writers, Diane Curtis Regan, and Anna Meyers, poet, James Kavanough, and Dr. Eugene Hill. Oklahoma University sponsors a "Writing Project" for teachers, which I have twice attended on scholarship, studying under Dr. Mike Angelotti. Harvey Stanbrough, a Pulitzer Nominee, edited and published my poetry chapbook  April 2002. 1stBooks.com has published it again, adding several poems and essays. I am also an artist and the cover drawing is my original. The new title is, "Can a Mother Die of a Broken Heart." As secretary of the Ardmore Art Guild for a number of years, I have studied under artists  Ann Templeton,  Morgan Samuel Price, and the late, Monte Hoke, reknowned potter and the late Steve Grey, reknowned painter. Recently I studied watercolor painting with Professor Rob Erdle and children's book writing and illustration with professor/author Anastasia Suen.

Short story just pubished, and TROPHY AWARDED POETRY BOOK by Okla. Writers' Federation, Inc. contes, also Third place for children's picture book, "Jolly, the Blue Clown."
My students won first place for our writing/economic project in the state economic Linda Wimmer contest, 1990.

I am not just published in magazines and newspaper, I now have a published bookand a short story in an anthology. I am also, currently, having a one-man show of paintings at the First National Bank in my home town. I have sold a short story which appears in an anthology of 51 short stories compiled by Kendall Bell titled, "From the Heart."
