Who would have thought that mucking stalls and broiling in the sun at horse events would someday provide background for a story?

Background Information

My husband and I are life-long residents of Catahoula Parish, Louisiana. Since retiring from teaching in public schools, I've worked part-time with a grant-funded early intervention program as service coordinator for families of children with special needs and with another program for high school dropouts. Most of my 'free' time during this period was spent mucking stalls and hauling horses to horse events with my daughter, forcing me into more knowledge than I desired at the time but has provided treasured memories and background for my stories. More recently, I've simply enjoyed the leisure of retirement. With a bit of traveling and a lot of grandparenting, family, and friends, I've found time to discover the great pleasure in writing stories based on Christian principles.

Birth Place
Jonesville, LA Catahoula
Accomplishments

BA from Louisiana Tech University, Ruston LA.

Additional Information

In April 2002, my first novel was published in trade paper by Publish America and released in hardcover in November. Fountains of the Spirits is a novel of contemporary Christian fiction which tells of the characters' quest to quench that inner thirst while drinking from fountains of false teachings, adventure, greed, pride and personal glory. Although partly inspired by the actual Wild Horse Ministry of Paul Daily of Louisiana, the story is fiction, but with the message of God's immeasurable love. My second novel, A Cry from the Harbor, has been accepted for publication and hopefully, will be released sometime this year. Click 'My Books' for cover and synopsis. For reader reviews, check out www.publishamerica.com. For more info re: Paul Daily's Wild Horse Ministries, visit www.wildhorseministries.com. Fountains of the Spirits is available in hardcover or paperback through the publisher, Publish America, Inc. 1 877 333 7422, online booksellers and most bookstores. Distributors are Ingram, Baker & Taylor, and Brodart. Louisiana signings include BAM in Monroe and Alexandria, Blessings in West Monroe, and Celebrations in Jonesville. Other signing include Turning Pages in Natchez, MS and the East Texas Book Festival in Jefferson, Texas.
