I feel like I cannot choose which parts of the very blessed life that I have led to-date to share with you. I feel fulfilled both in my vocational life and in my family life. Most of the goals that I had set have been met.
I have traveled the globe, but find AMERICA is still the best place to be in a chaotic world.
My husband's sacrifice in Iraq motivated me to write this book. I have felt like America doesn't know the "real life" stories behind the men and women who have gone and served as contractors inside Iraq or Afghanistan. It was very important for me to write down on paper my thoughts, feelings and experiences since my husband's deployment in August of 2005. During the time he has been gone, we have moved across an ocean and back to our home state of South Dakota. I have undergone some major surgeries and we have had a complete change of administration in the White House. My burden is to put a "face" on families like ours and to honor my husband, along with the one year service of our youngest son.
As a mom, grandma, wife and daughter I hope that I touch the hearts of any who read this book with a new understanding and glimpse into another aspect of American life. The choices we have made will be weighed in light of history being made for our nation. I believe I have written this for future generations to get the "complete story" of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.
I hope you enjoy this book!
