I was born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba. As a young girl, I moved from the prairies out west to Vancouver, Whitehorse, Vancouver Island, Chile, and West Africa eventually ending up back on Vancouver Island in Qualicum Beach, where my husband and I live today.
Because of circumstances when I was younger, I wasn’t able to go further in my education than high school. Through hard work and determination I reached certain successes that made my working life memorable, so those years passed in a happy haze.
Probably my best piece of work is my son who has added to my love of life, given me wonderful memories, and will continue to through the coming years.
Most authors will tell you that to write isn’t an option. What they write and how well is where choice lies. The desire to write children’s books inspired me to take four years of courses that ended with only one published story to show for the hard work. The old adage of write what you love steered me in the direction of women’s romantic fiction, and I haven’t looked back since.
I entered a contest with Wild Rose Press, and being a person who has a problem following any sort of guidelines (a fixable flaw that I intend to address one day) I didn’t win, but they offered a contract to publish my story as a stand-alone. Taking time to make up my mind…the length of time it took to type yes!! And voila…my new career began.
I have written three novellas ‘She’s Me’, ‘He’s Her’ and ‘We’re One’ all for the Vicarage Bench Series, published by Wild Rose Press. The fourth ‘Together Again’ has been released May 13th of this year.
