Over the years, I wrote short stories and poetry, and then concentrated on the art of screenwriting, having written my first script at the age of sixteen. It was an epic tome; 200 pages long. Clearly I had a lot to learn. And learn, I did. In fact, I'm still learning, as it is an ever-changing landscape. In those years when I devoted myself to the screenwriting craft, I saw a short script I wrote, "Old Man's Window", become a beautifully morose student film, directed by the talented Jack Wung. I also had two feature length screenplays optioned by up-and-coming film studios. Sadly, the productions never came to be, but through it all, I learned much, and made a new friend in Mike Davis of Stag Films.

Following the, admittedly, disheartening news that neither of my two optioned scripts would be going before the cameras, I began to focus my attention on an old idea I had for a book, originally a modern take on the classic film, "The Deer Hunter" and the Robert Louis Stevenson story, "The Suicide Club". It involved a psychopath who brings an apprentice into an underground suicide club and the life lessons they learn. I took that basic concept and reworked it into something of more meaning, and added a touch of mystery, suspense, horror, and spirituality. And so was born, "God Complex", my first novel.

As I searched for a publisher or an agent or anybody who would take the book seriously, I applied to The Art Institute of Vancouver's Film Program and was accepted. And soon after, I was contacted by Phil Harris of All Things That Matter Press, who made my day by offering me a publishing contract. They say good things happen in threes, so I've been playing the lottery ever since.

"God Complex" follows an ex-con with an identity disorder and a psychopath with delusions of divinity who are searching for a missing girl who will lead one of them to a Divine encounter.

And out of left field, Carlton Mellick III's "Razor Wire Pubic Hair".
