I've been a writer all my life. Starting as a junior high newspaper editor, then high school, then military reports, then as Managing Editor of AIRMAN, the official magazine of the Air Force. As a public affairs officer, I communicated; in print, in person, on the air, I told our story. In Arizona, in Wash., D.C., in Europe, I told their story.
And now I'm home, retired; and now I'm telling my story. In poetry. Indulging and exploring my voice. Frost, Sandburg, Whitman, Kooser, Ryan and Collins. And many nothers in between.
Now I'm enthused about Li Po. Without knowing Chinese, I can read and appreciate the formats and concepts of dealing with concepts instead of words. But I'm still struggling to do it.
I live in the woods with a creek flowing through it. I walk my paths, sit on my benches by flowing waters, words come to visit me. And birds sing also.
