I have a B.A. (Hons) in Literature and an M.A. (Creative Writing). I am extremely keen on showing children and adults, alike, how they can be inspired by great literature. We do this at Loony Literature by writing articles, making fun videos and, of course, writing. At the Loony Literature Laboratory, we have two monsters who were influenced by Mary Shelley's Frankenstein. We use them in our videos and photographs. Mary Shelley has also influenced me to write a play called Frankenstein's Revenge which will be ready for publication and performance next year.
We love Shakespeare and so we promote his works in a child friendly fashion so that young people will be comfortable with the Bard when they start ot study it. We encourage parents and children to introduce their children to Shakespeare's insults - lots of fun and hilarity always follows. Will Blyton and The Stinking Shadow was influenced by Shakespeare's insults. When Will finds Hamnet, a small boy trapped in a stone from the Tudor period, there are insults galore flying about.
My other major influences are Victorian writers like Emily Bronte. Mulgrave Castle - Harriet Twine - the Saucy, Victorian Detective will be out later in the year. Dante DeGuise was insipred by Heathcliff - however, he might not be quite like him!
